Make unattainable pets.. ATTAINABLE
Simple suggestion, in pre-searing you can head outside of piken's square and see all the grawl and you will see 1-2 little moss spiders running around that are friendly towards you...
Normally at the very moment i saw them I was excited as can be "sweet mother of holy god its a spider i can tame!"
And woe is me, you cannot even tame that bastard... what kind of crap is that?
Anet, please. If you made unattainable pets just to piss us off then you have accomplished your mission.... The idea is to tame the darn thing, not to look at it and gaze at all its digital splendor.
I have read on the guildwars site that they read these forums... hopefully this message its seen, its a rather simple request.
I don't know if there are any other attainable pets, but the moss spider problem really irked me.
Thats throwing in my two platinum.

post searing is after the searing so even if you have to do a few things on the way it is post sear

thats UW
From what I hear, you can only get that darn spider in UW... and I dont care for some black widow spider or w/e.
I want that tiny little piddly piece of crap moss spider!!!
and for some reason they make a tiny lvl 2 spider unattainable and expect you to put close to 100 something hours to even be able to start getting into UW to get a spider...
I'll make it big (stat-wise) and strong and beat up those damn moa birds!
Its a bunch of crap i tell ye =\

Ah, you forget that the Moss Spider is clearly that, a moss spider. I mean, it is not an animal, it moves so it isnt mineral, therefore it must clearly be a vegetable.

You can tame moss spiders in pre-searing if your skill is high enough.
Try over near the magical tree where the ranger sends you for your "Charm a pet" quest.
I haven't had any luck with the bears yet, but my guildmate did.

If this is true I shall have to try it. What's the lowest Beast Mastery skill the spiders want you to have?
As for the bears, you need to bring along a really good hammer warrior and be able to cast Charm fast while the W keeps it on the ground so it can't use Break Charm. Make sure he's using a terrible hammer though, so he doesnt kill it XD

That reminds me. I promised my daughter i would show her that rabbit.
Pets...can't even remember what pet i have. Been in his box for a month!
If only we could tame ANY creature in the game, that would be awesome. Please arenanet, can i have a drake? lol
[perhaps it is feasible only in PvE? I can't imagine them letting us take a skeleton ranger into an arena, but that is a funny thought, lol.]
Perhaps their will be new pets in the future? Imagine a giant tortoise as a pet. It can tank like crazy because it has 4570 basic armour but it hides in it's shell when taking damage, lol.

Yea having any creature tamable would be awesome and make some rangers more wanted.
The first thing I thought of was taming a giant warm from the desert. That would own, and even taming bone dragons would be awesome.
I actually tamed a Dune lizard and named it Baby Dragon, then I went to the northern wall and showed him off a bit.

I would tame a fire imp because those things make people so mad. Then use poison and bleeding and super fast death.

I agree, there really should be more tame-able pets. I personally don't think all types of monsters should be tame-able, at least not the sentient, magic-wielding (mentioned in the game manual) ones, like tengu, mursaat, forgotten, imps, grawl, charr, bone dragons, any undead. But the tame-able animals should include the non-sentient ones, like the rabbit, devourers, aloe seeds, spiders, dryders, scarabs, and Gwen.

ok so ummm
Ok so umm... do you know what Beast mastery skill you need to tame the moss spider? Or are you just blowing steam?
I made a character ranger SOLELY for the purpose of taming that darn thing.
I just got him level 4 and put every point into the skill. (skill is now 5).
I tried over in green hills country and got a "that creature is not an animal" message.
Or do you actually have to try near the melandru shrine where you get the stalker?
Anyone able to help?

What really annoys me is that some asshat named Old Mac can tame a devourer simply by raising it, but that A TRAINED BEAST MASTERING RANGER can't.
